This is my #1 anti-aging trick... and it’s free!

It will give you glow in 1 day, and it isn't a cream, a mask, or a fancy serum. It's something I've loved all my life...

Hei my friend,

Do you know what might just be the best skincare ritual no one talks about?

Forget 10-step routines. One of the most powerful skincare rituals starts with sweat. Yes, movement can transform your skin just as much as your body!

In this week’s letter, I’ll share how I went from ballet heartbreak to finding strength again, how science proves training is skincare in disguise, and why muddy boots on the farm are basically my gym membership.

Plus: a sweet apple-and-plum recipe straight from the garden, a carrot comedy show courtesy of Mother Nature, and even a theater night with my mom 💛

How breaking down led to building back stronger

Let me tell you a secret: my relationship with physical activity has been… complicated.

I’ve had a lifelong love story with movement. But like any love story, it hasn’t been without heartbreak.

I started out in a tutu, twirling in ballet classes before I could even spell «plié». Later I joined a sports high school to study dance properly. At the same time, I was sprinting down the football field as a wing-back - fast, competitive, and absolutely loving the team spirit.

But then came the injury...

My meniscus tore in the middle of a dance performance (yes, during the show). And because I was stubborn (and maybe a bit reckless), I kept dancing three more shows before I realized something was seriously wrong…

That was the beginning of a long saga with knee surgeries, failed comebacks, and the heartbreaking realization that both ballet and competitive football were over for me.
Losing both ballet and football felt like losing part of my identity. For years, I carried grief over what my body couldn’t do anymore. And to be honest, there were days I didn’t even want to move at all.

But slowly, I found my way back. Not to the spotlight or the stadium, but to something deeper. With time, I found new ways to move.

Today, I’m not chasing medals. I’m chasing balance.s

Today, I’m strong enough to carry heavy buckets across the farm, chase my nieces and nephews with a football, walking our dogs for miles, and hike up a mountain (even if I complain on the way down hehe).

It’s not the life I imagined at 17, but it’s a life I love. And it’s taught me this: the greatest gift is waking up in a body that works. You don’t need a medal or a stage. You need a body that carries you through your days, with strength, resilience, and pride.

And of course, as part of my healing journey - and to keep my muscles and joints healthy, fresh, and injury-free - our Joint & Muscle Healing Balm has been a faithful companion. If you’re active like me, it definitely deserves a spot in your routine too!

And honestly? That’s more than enough. Being able to age naturally and with pride in your body is the real win 💛

And here’s the beautiful twist: When you move in ways that feel good, it doesn’t just heal your soul. It shows on your skin too.

Why I see movement as skincare too

Most people don’t realize it, but your skin is like a mirror of what’s happening inside your body. And movement is one of the most underrated skincare rituals there is. Science backs it up:

✨ Cardio = The Glow Effect

When your heart rate goes up, circulation improves. That means more oxygen and nutrients delivered straight to your skin cells. It speeds up cell turnover, fuels collagen production, and gives you that healthy post-workout glow no cream can fake.

💪 Strength Training = Firmness + Collagen

Lifting heavy isn’t just for toned arms - it’s a skin booster too. When you challenge your muscles, blood flow floods your skin with oxygen, vitamins, and amino acids, giving collagen production a serious push. At the same time, heavy training triggers growth hormones that rebuild both collagen and elastin - the proteins that keep skin firm and springy. The result? Fewer wrinkles, less sagging, and that «bounce-back» look no cream can fake.

🧘♀️ Yoga & Pilates = Calm, Balanced Skin

Stress hormones like cortisol can wreak havoc on your skin - triggering breakouts, redness, even premature aging. Gentle, mindful training lowers cortisol, balances the nervous system, and helps your skin barrier stay strong and calm.

⚡ HIIT = Quick Reset

Short bursts of intense training get the blood pumping fast. You’ll notice an instant glow (just don’t overdo it, balance is key).

☀️ Outdoors = Vitamin D, Nature’s Skin Vitamin

Even a brisk walk outside boosts vitamin D, essential for skin barrier function. Plus, nothing beats fresh air for mind, body, and spirit.

So yes, skincare is vital (and I’ll always fight for clean, botanical formulas you can trust). For me, physical movement is step one in my skincare routine, followed up by The Complete System for Mature Women’s Skin. In that way, I heal my skin in a true, holistic approach.

And your daily movement? That’s free medicine. For your heart. For your mood. For your skin.

From muddy boots to magic moments (& a few runaway carrots)

And talking of daily movement - life on the farm this week? Equal parts workout and comedy show.

We’ve been hauling baskets of plums and apples, enough to keep the whole family stocked, but not nearly enough to open «Line’s Luxury Cider Co». (maybe next year 😅).

The kitchen smells like apple cinnamon heaven, and honestly, it feels like nature’s handing out candy this time of year.

Which means this week’s recipe is something sweet from our fruit trees! I love making fruit snacks at home, without all the crazy amounts of additives and preservatives in the store-bought ones. How is it even possible that dried mangos can consist of… only 60 percent mango!?

If you’ve got a dehydrator, you’re going to love this. If not, don’t worry - I’ve got an easy oven version too. Recipe at the end of this letter as always 💛

And then came the carrots. Let’s just say… Mother Nature clearly has a sense of humor. I pulled one out that looked like it was trying to run away on two legs, another that could’ve starred in a Pixar movie.

Definitely not Instagram material, but trust me – they were delicious. Proof that even the weird-looking ones deserve love (and stew).

Oh, and one more highlight! I traded muddy boots for theater seats this week.

My mom invited me to see RENT at our local stage, and it was pure magic. Sharing that evening with her, away from chores and routines, felt like such a gift. I’m forever grateful to have both my parents in my life.

The musical is about a group of young artists and bohemians in 1990s New York, navigating love, friendship, poverty, and the fragility of life in the midst of the AIDS epidemic. So to all of you New Yorkers reading this: You’d be proud of our little town’s show!

I love talking with you 💛

So here’s my takeaway: glowing skin doesn’t come from one thing alone. Movement strengthens it from the inside, while clean, botanical skincare like Frøya protects it from the outside. Together, they make the perfect duo 💫

What about you - how do you take care of your skin beyond the bathroom mirror? I’d love to hear your rituals. And as always, if you have any questions or feedback, I would love finding your email-reply in my inbox.

With warmth,
Line 💚

The apple & plum candy recipe as promised 🍎🍑

Okay, here is my favorite candy from nature: dehydrated fruit chip. I went for cinnamon for the apples, and cardamom for the plums. YUM the smell!

Instructions:
Slice plums and apples very thin - about 2–3 mm (1/16–1/8 inch).
Place the slices directly on the dehydrator trays (no parchment paper needed).
Dry at 55–60 °C (130–140 °F) for 8–12 hours - check as you go.
Cool completely before placing them in an airtight jar - that way they’ll stay crisp for weeks.

Flavor ideas:
Cinnamon works beautifully, especially on apples.
Ground ginger or cardamom adds a more exotic touch.
A light sprinkle of sea salt enhances the sweetness (a really tasty combo!).
Or just leave them plain - plums turn naturally sweet and concentrated on their own.

And if you don’t have a dehydrator, don’t worry - I got you! Here are two super easy recipes, using a regular oven:

🍎 Baked 🍎 Cinnamon Apples

Ingredients:
2 apples
2 tbsp chopped nuts (walnuts, almonds, or pecans)
2 tsp honey or maple syrup
½ tsp cinnamon

Method:
Cut the apples in half and remove the core.
Place them cut-side up in a baking dish.
Fill the hollow with nuts, sprinkle with cinnamon, and drizzle with honey.
Bake at 180 °C / 350 °F for about 20 minutes, until soft and golden.
Serve warm with Greek yogurt.

🍑 Baked Plums 🍑 with Nuts and Honey

Ingredients:
2 apples
2 tbsp chopped nuts (walnuts, almonds, or pecans)
2 tsp honey or maple syrup
½ tsp cinnamon

Method:
Cut the plums in half and remove the pit.
Place them cut-side up in a baking dish.
Sprinkle with nuts, drizzle with honey, and add optional spice/herb.
Bake at 180 °C / 350 °F for about 15 minutes, until soft and juicy.
Serve warm with Greek yogurt or skyr.
