From Christmas prep to a mini DIY

A very Norwegian mix: snow, slush, jars, oranges & science rage

If my week were a dinner recipe, it would look something like this:
· 1 cup snowstorm
· 2 tablespoons rain
· 1 massive ice crust
· A handful of dried orange slices
· Several empty Frøya jars
· A generous scoop of Black Friday
· A sprinkle of cozy dinners
· And a big spoonful of «new, infuriating research about food and health»
Mix it all together and… voilà:
this week’s letter 🍲✨
Inside you’ll find:
🍊 A 5-minute DIY you can make with leftover dried oranges
♻️ Surprisingly beautiful ways to repurpose your empty Frøya jars
🖤 Your Black Friday reminder (with our best prices ever)
❄️ A farm update featuring Norway’s most dramatic weather shift
🔥 Cozy evenings with friends
🌱 And a health insight that made me furious

Let’s stir it all together.

🍊 From Christmas prep to a mini DIY breakthrough

And if you also made the wreath, you might be in the same boat as me: leftover dried orange slices everywhere 😅
Throw them away? Absolutely not.
So I started experimenting:
· Garlands?
· Tree ornaments?
· Table decorations?
And then it hit me - we’re hosting Christmas for the first time ever this year, with eight adults and two little ones at the table.
Perfect moment for something charming and handmade.I already had the dried slices, leftover tags from last year, and a bit of ribbon - and suddenly, the simplest materials turned into beautiful, personal place settings.
Sometimes the easiest ideas really are the best.

♻️ Repurposing Your Frøya Jars My new favorite thing

So many of you have told me how much you love the empty Frøya jars and can’t bear to throw them away… and I feel exactly the same.
They’re sturdy, minimalist, and honestly kind of adorable.
Here are a few ideas I’ve been testing lately:
✨ Tiny spice jars
✨ Homemade lip scrub containers
✨ Ring or earring keepers
✨ Travel-size balm or moisturizer
✨ Little gift jars
✨ Mini candle holders
✨ Pots for herbs
✨ Craft storage (beads, pins, tiny buttons)Do you have other ideas?

❄️ Farmlife update:
from winter wonderland to… well, slush apocalypse

Last week, the farm was pure winter magic.
Snow everywhere. Blue hour light.
Dogs bouncing like newborn reindeer.
This week?
Rain.
Then more rain.
Then freezing temperatures.Which created what I can only describe as Norway’s largest accidental ice rink right outside our house 😅
Walking the dogs turned into an extreme sport.
Parking the car?
Let’s just say interesting.
But that’s November for you - beautiful one moment, slightly unhinged the next.
When the weather goes wild, it becomes even more important to lean into warmth and coziness indoors. This week I hosted a girls’ dinner while my partner was away at a Christmas party - homemade dinner, good stories, too much laughter, and long conversations by the fire.
Pure medicine.
And this Sunday… it’s happening.
First day of Advent =
Christmas decor time 🎄
I can’t wait to show you the holiday version of the farm🥹

🌱 This week’s health focus - and why it matters

As many of you know, I have IBS - something I wouldn’t wish on anyone. Years of tests, frustration, tears, trial and error… until I finally found what actually works for me (I’m talking about this in this Instagram-video if you want my best tips).
So when new research drops,
I pay attention.
And last week, something big popped up on my screen while I was Googling away as usual:The research ties UPFs to an overwhelming list of health issues - inflammation, hormone disruption, heart problems, weight gain, and negative effects on children and teens.
UNICEF even asks why governments still won’t take action, yet many health authorities tiptoe around the word ultra-processed altogether.
And here’s the thing I deeply believe:
One formula does NOT fit all.
We’re different people with different bodies, genetics, tolerances and gut ecosystems.
But we can use simple, grounded logic:
👉 Does this food look like it came from nature?
👉 Or does it look like something from a laboratory?
If the second one feels more accurate… maybe that’s a sign.
The truth is, huge global food companies rely on ultra-processed products for massive profit. They control the supply chain from field to store shelf - and spend enormous amounts on marketing and political influence.
So yes, I get frustrated. For myself.
For all of you. For families trying their best with the information they’re given.
But I also believe deeply in this:
We’re not powerless.
We can choose.
We can ask questions.
We can learn.
And we can support our bodies with real food and ingredients that actually loves us back.
If you want me to share more research or meal ideas in future letters, just tell me - I’d love to.
